About me
Hi! If you’re on this page, you’re probably looking for information that will help you figure out if I’m a good fit for you. I’ll do my best to give you the info you need! And if you have more questions, I’m always happy to talk with you as you’re making a decision about where to go for therapy! You can contact me and schedule a free 15-minute phone call, or ask any questions you need to in the message box.
My approach to therapy
Obviously, providing therapy is my job, but I’ve personally benefited from attending therapy myself, too. I know what it’s like to be sitting on the couch, about to tell my whole life story to a stranger. Because I know what it's like to go to therapy, I do everything I can to provide a meaningful, helpful experience to every client I meet with, every session. I regularly dedicate time to reading, researching, and strengthening my clinical skills so I can show up for my clients. Coming to therapy is a huge investment of your time, emotional effort, and money, and it is very important to me that I do all I can to make therapy useful and productive for you. Therapy is not always easy, but I hope you’ll walk out of every therapy session, even the tough ones, feeling understood, supported, and empowered to find the growth you’re striving for.
Know that you can talk about ANYTHING you need or want to in therapy. Nothing is TMI, I promise. Being human is messy, and I’m here for you through all of it.
I align my practice with the principles of Health At Every Size® (HAES®), and believe bodies of every shape and size deserve respect and care. I am LGBTQIA2S+ affirming. Clients from all backgrounds are welcome!
I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Read more about ART here.
Education and experience
I have over 10 years of clinical experience. I completed a 2-year internship as a marriage and family therapy graduate student at BYU. After graduating, I worked as an associate therapist under supervision at a family therapy clinic for 3 years. I have been practicing as a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) in Utah since 2021, first at an eating disorder specialty clinic, and now at Brightly Mental Health, which I launched in 2024.
Specialties
Since the very beginning of my work as a therapist, I have worked with people dealing with eating disorders, body image concerns, and relationship struggles. I have experience treating all eating disorder diagnoses, including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, ARFID, and other eating concerns.
I also help clients dealing with:
depression
anxiety
perfectionism
trauma
self-harm
stress
life transitions
job stress
parenting problems
More about me
I am a daughter of immigrants from Taiwan (my mom) and England (my paternal grandmother). I grew up celebrating Lunar New Year and Boxing Day, and I keep those traditions, among many others, alive in my own family today. I would happily eat English Trifle and Chinese dumplings in the same meal (actually, that’s probably my ideal meal), and I love the cultures I come from!
In my free time, I can be found hiking in our beautiful Utah mountains, reading nerdy books, and drawing.
I am married, and my husband and I have three amazing kiddos.
